The 1971 ‘Remember Oluwale’ graffiti has inspired writers and poets. Our Writing Prize  offers more opportunities to reflect on David’s life and the issues it provokes. Please contribute — the deadline (6th March 2016) approaches fast.

A book containing the best entries will be published in June 2016. Our high-profile judges are Caryl Phillips, Marina Lewycka and Ian Duhig.

We are very grateful to Fiona Gell at the BigBookEnd and to Sarah J Bradley (writer and organiser of Fictions of Every Kind) for the enormous amount of work they’ve put into this venture.

This article in the Yorkshire Post explains the context for launching the prize.
